Lifelong Carthage resident, Darlene M. Muir, 79, died Friday, October 8 in Brandywine Nursing Home in Greenfield. She was born December 14, 1924 in Carthage, a daughter of the late Maine and Edith (Brooks) Magee.
Mrs. Muir was a housewife. She married Raymond Muir October 31, 1942 and he preceded her in death March 11, 1990.
Survivors include two sons, Bill (wife Judy) Muir of Carthage and Tom (wife Nancy) Muir of Carthage; one daughter, Linda Horine of Carthage; two brothers, Fred Magee of Indianapolis and Richard Magee of Rushville; three sisters, Gerry Magee Strong of New Castle, Gloria (husband Lyle) Plank of Greenfield, and Lou Magee of Logansport; nine grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, one daughter, two brothers and one sister preceded her in death.
Services were held Monday, October 11 at Todd Funeral Home Carthage Chapel with Rev. David Bonne officiating. Burial was in Carthage Town Cemetery.
Visitation was held at the funeral home Sunday, October 10.
