Mrs. Caroline Fritsch, the fourth child of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kreul, was born May 7th, 1832, in Fleissen, Austria, and died Sunday morning, June 3rd, 1906, at her home, 1-1/2 miles from this village. In October, 1852, she left the land of her birth and immigrated to this country, living in Kansas City for several months, then in Jefferson, Wis., and in the fall of 1853 moving to Fennimore, Wis. On the 6th day of April, 1856, she was united in marriage to Christian Fritsch, who died Nov. 13, 1905. To them were born four children, three of whom died in infancy, leaving George, of this place, the only surviving child. For many years a niece, Miss Lydia Kreul, lived with Mr. and Mrs. Fritsch, and since the death of the former has lovingly and faithfully cared for her aunt, who has been ailing for some time. Besides her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. George Fritsch, the deceased is survived by three brothers, John, of Woodman, and Adam and George, of Fennimore, and by six grand-children, one great-grand-child and numerous other relatives. Mrs. Fritsch was a member of the Lutheran church. The funeral services were held at her home on Tuesday, June 6th, Rev. E. Mutschmann, of Boscobel, officiating.
