He married Mary Oliver Chance (1816-1894) on April 20, 1835 in St. Swothins, Worcestershire, England. Mary was born October 10, 1816, at Elmbridge, Worcester, England, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Oliver Chance.

• Frederick Yeates (1838-1926)
• Thomas Yeates (1840-1868)
• Esther (Yeates) Scott (1843-1920)
• Ann (Yeates) Hymers (1846-__)
They came to Utah about 1860 and lived in Sugar House until they came to Millville in 1865. George and his son, Frederick, opened a small store in Millville; and George also operated a cider mill near the store. His cider and vinegar were sold throughout the valley.
Mary served as Counselor to Lusannah G. Hovey in the Relief Society, and as Chairman of the first Visiting Teachers in Millville Ward.
