Paula Catherine "Cathy" Hoffman, 42, of W7579 Koshkonong Lake Rd., Fort Atkinson, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, as the result of a motorcycle accident. Cathy was born June 20, 1966, in Tampa, FL. Cathy attended UW-Marathon County, receiving an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in 1995. She continued her education at UW-Whitewater, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in speech language pathology in 1998. Cathy continued her education, receiving an SLP master's degree in 2000. Cathy married Richard Earl Hoffman Jr. on May 28, 1988, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, WI. After 20 years of marriage, they grew to be more in love than ever. Cathy was a member of Fowler Baptist Church in Tampa, FL, and Amelia Baptist Church in Darby Pasco, FL. Cathy was employed by Beloit Rehab Health Center as a speech language pathologist and also worked part-time for Cedar Crest Nursing Home and Community Physical Therapy. She started her career working with children, but found her true passion in working with the elderly.

Cathy is survived by her children: Andrew Hoffman, Private 1st Class E-3 of Fort Knox, KY, and Joshua (Aygul) Hoffman of Madison; stepdaughter, Michele (Gerald) Buscher of Mukwonago; stepgranddaughter, Noel Jean Buscher of Mukwanago; her parents, Charles (Marti) Carver of Live Oak, FL, and Janice (Al) Angle of Lakeland, FL; father-in-law, Don Paustenbach of Medford; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Cindy (Jeff) Drost of Beloit, Tim (Katie) Hoffman of Medford, Cliff (Tami) Hoffman of Medford, Todd Hoffman of Weston, Donna Brahmer of Janesville, and Steven (Jennie) Paustenbach of Green Bay; 18 nieces and nephews; and eight great-nieces and nephews. Cathy was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Amie Hoffman; and a cousin, Cathy Buchanan.
Cathy's love for her husband, children, parents, extended family and friends was unconditional. She was a happy, loving woman who enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved the outdoors, her ducks, and riding bike with her husband. Cathy will be remembered with a hug, a kiss and a tear. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Services were held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford on Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at 11 a.m., with Father Gerard Willger and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Visitations were at Hemer Funeral Home on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 5 until 7 p.m., and Friday morning from 9 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church until the time of the service.
