Larry Wayne Neal

MOOREVILLE - Larry Wayne Neal, 64, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at his residence after an extended illness. He was born in Birmingham, Ala., and raised in Webster County; he was born on Oct. 18, 1943, to Wister Franklin and Morea Henley Neal. He was a member of Boguefala Baptist Church in Mooreville.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Jefferson Street Chapel in Tupelo with the Rev. Bryan Wilson and the Rev. Cecil Pumphrey officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at North Union Cemetery in Bellefontaine. Special music will be by Kayla Wigington, granddaughter. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Beckey Smith Neal of Mooreville; two daughters, Kimberly Lynn Godsey (Britt) of Detroit, Ala., and Amanda Sue Haney (Jerry Bo) of Olive Branch; one son, Timothy Wayne Neal (Tina) of Tupelo; three sisters, Joan Pumphrey (the Rev. Cecil) of Tupelo, Frankie Wooten (Billy) of Greenville, Texas, and Sue Neely (Jerry) of Murphresboro, Tenn.; two brothers, Billy Jim Neal (Sandra) of Amory and Steve Neal (Marcia) of Starkville; eight grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hal Douglas Neal; one grandson, Dillon Bishop Godsey.

Pallbearers will be Bert Nail, Billy and Steve Neal, Sonny McGonagill, Allen McCurdy and Eric Livingston.

Honorary pallbearers will be Heath Smith, Jim Paris and David Pumphrey.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
