Funeral Services for Velma Lee McIntire have been scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at Hayhurst Funeral Home Chapel in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Rev. Joe Cook will officiate. Burial will follow at Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.
Velma Lee McIntire was born June 20, 1920 in Wagoner County, Oklahoma the daughter of George Robert and Amanda (Wakefield) Pense. Velma died Sunday, August 10, 2008 at Broken Arrow Nursing Home in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. She was 88 years of age.
Velma lived her entire lifetime in Broken Arrow. She was married to Abraham "Abe' L. McIntire who preceded her in death. She had worked at the Broken Arrow Cannery, Oral Roberts Ministries Mail Room and Broken Arrow Public Schools Cafeteria. She enjoyed her church, quilting and cooking fried pies. She was a member of Hope Christian Ministries, "Church of God of Prophecy".
