Mrs. Alma Caroline Banner Arnett, 100, Roan Highlands Nursing Center, Roan Mountain, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008.

A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Carson and Lou Grimsley Banner. She was a homemaker. Mrs Arnett was a member of the Laurel Fork Church of Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceeded in death by her husband Andy G. Arnett, a daughter, Frances Arnett and a son, Tivis Arnett.

Survivors include Five Daughters & Sons-in-Law: Pauline & Don Barnett, Jonesborough, Mary Lou Brewer and her late husband William of Elizabethton, Lillie Mae & Jack Ellis, Roan Mountain, Grace & Bob Cobb, Calumet, Illinois and Thelma & Larry Mullins, Valpo, Indiana. Five Sons & Daughters-In-Law; Ernest Ray & Myrna Arnett, Hampton, Jack & Deloris Arnett, Elizabethton, James & Carol Arnett, Thomasville, North Carolina, Charles & Joyce Arnett, and Don & Becky Arnett, all of Roan Mountain. 32 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren, and two Great Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jim Storie officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Markland Cemetery, Roan Mountain. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be family & friends. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs Arnett to the Alzheimer's Association, Northeast Tn. Chapter, 207 N. Boone Street, Suite 1500, Johnson City, Tn. 37604.

The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Dr. Jerry Gastineau and the Staff and Nurses of Roan Highlands Nursing Center. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Saturday to go to the cemetery.
