She was the daughter of the late Walter Isaac Heavener and Rosie Belle (Goldizen) Heavener.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Dayton Carr, Jan. 15, 1997; and two brothers, Roscoe Heavener and Leo Heavener.

She is survived by one daughter, Madeline Anna Tanner of Cabins; two sons, Hansel Dayton Carr of Burlington and Ronnie Lee Carr Sr. of Cabins; two sisters, Cleta Goldizen of Maysville and Letha Vance of Cabins; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
