Verna Ellen McNabb Graham

Verna Ellen McNabb Graham joined her Heavenly Father Saturday June 25, 2016.

She was born in Frankel, Texas, Stephens County on November 5, 1918 in her Grandparents home. She attended Caddo Schools before moving to Abilene to finish High School. Verna married Glenn “Shorty” Graham, the love of her life on February 14, 1940. They settled in Ranger and were members of the First Baptist Church.

She was an extremely talented Seamstress and quilter; every stitch had to be perfect. Verna was also a wonderful cook and could make a gourmet meal out of “scraps”. She was an avid Little League Mom and never missed a game. She taught her children to be self-sufficient, independent, and to always tell the truth.

Verna retired from First State Bank of Ranger after working 19 years. In 2005 at the age of 86, she moved to North Richland Hills to a Senior Living facility and immediately learned to play Bridge and participate in water exercise classes. Verna made lasting friends wherever she lived.
Verna was preceded in death by her beloved husband; parents; sisters, Lucille (Cindy) & Cordella; and brothers, Jummy & Judge. Survivors include daughters, Patsy Savage and Sue Gill; sons, Johnny Graham and wife Alice, David Graham and wife, Donna; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Edwards Funeral Home in Ranger. Funeral will be 10 A.M. Wednesday June 29th at the First Baptist Church in Ranger with Ronny Guess officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger.
