__Grant Umsted, 90, of 1224 Eighteenth ave. SW, a carpenter and Cedar Rapids resident 70 years, died in a Cedar Rapids nursing home Monday. Born in Cedar county July 11, 1868, he was a member of the Maccabees and of the Carpenter's union local No. 308.
__Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. George Merrifield of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Gordon Hodge of Hollywood; 2 sisters, Susan Heieie of Skokie, Ill., and Nettie Wertz of Lincoln, Neb., and 5 brothers, Ray, of Chinook, Mont., Robert, of Fort Dodge, William, of Dayton, Ia., Bert, of Fargo, N.D., and Floyd, of Lodi, Ohio. Two sons, Walter and Eugene and a daughter, Mabel, preceded him in death. His wife, Mary, died May 7, 1955.
__Services: 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Rohn funeral home by the Rev. Walter Cerka of Sharon Evangelical United Brethren church. Burial: Linwood. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday.
