Mrs. Bryant was born in the Massies Mill Community of Nelson County on November 14, 1913 a daughter of the late George Washington Dillard and Zelonah Mahone Dillard. She had lived most of her life in Danville where she was a homemaker. Mrs. Dillard was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was Past President of the United Methodist Women and the Henry Hardy Sunday School Class, and she was also Past President of the Westover Fellowship Club. She was first married to the late John Broughton Bauer who died in 1964 and she then married the late Herbert C. Bryant who died on March 19, 1986.
Mrs. Bryant is survived by one daughter Joyce Marie Bauer of Axton, VA, her former Pastor and friend Rev. Morris Bennett, wife Ann and daughters Mary and Beka. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two husbands, three brothers and five sisters.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Wrenn-Yeatts Westover Chapel by the Rev. Bob Gochenour and Rev. Morris Bennett. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
