Helen was the daughter of Percy Francis Bloomfield and Mary Patricia Purvis. She married and divorced Dr. Ralph Aurelio Luongo.

She was the devoted mother of Richard J. (Anita) Luongo, Albert J. (Gail) Luongo, Stephen B. (Ellen) Luongo and the late Ralph A. Luongo; also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grand-children. Sister of Marie Phillips.
