Kevin R. Abell, 14, of 427 Harmony Lane, Elkhorn, died Thursday in St. Mary's Hospital, Madison, after a long illness.
He was born in Elkhorn on January 17, 1967. Kevin, while attending the Elkhorn Middle School, was a member of the wrestling and basketball team and served as president and vice president of the student council. He played baseball in the City Colt League.
Surviving are his parents, Donald and Janet Abell of Elkhorn; a brother, Scott, and a sister, Laura, both at home, grandparents, Mrs. Margaret Abell and Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Fleming, all of Elkhorn, and his great-grandfather, William Carmichael of Stoughton.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the St. John in the Wilderness Church, with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Tibbets. The Betts Funeral Home, Elkhorn, was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospital Leukemia Fund in Madison.
