Don LaMar Porter, age 72, of Delta died Monday, October 6, 2008 at home in Delta, CO. He was born December 22, 1935 in Lyman, WY to Don and Nyda Platts Porter. He married Renee Harbison on October 11, 1980 at Ogden, UT. He grew up in Lyman, WY and graduated from Lyman High School. He attended Brigham Young University in Salt Lake City, UT. LaMar sang with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and toured in Europe with the Choir. His hobbies included doing yard work, running a marathon and several 10 K races. He was an avid sports enthusiast and gardener. He had lived in Phoenix, AZ prior to moving to Paonia, CO. He lived in Paonia for five years then moved to Delta where he has lived for the last 15 years. He is survived by his father, Don Porter of Orem, UT; his wife, Renee Porter of Delta, CO; three sons, Nate Little of Mesa, AZ; Troy and Clark Porter both of Salt Lake City, UT; four daughters, Keali Linnell and Kami Little both of Delta, CO; Megan Little of Mesa, AZ; Melanie Porter of Phoenix, AZ; three brothers, J. Porter and Perry Porter both of Orem, UT; Gilbert Porter of Salt Lake City, UT; three sisters, Alana Porter; Sandra Dutson of Lehigh, UT, and Rhonda Cook of Mesa, and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Nyda Porter; two sons, Ian Porter, and Lindsay Little. Funeral services will be held on October 10, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Mesa View Mortuary Chapel in Delta.
