Elijah J. Arbogast, 89, died Monday at his home at Circleville. He was born February 14, 1865, at Circleville, the son of Joseph and Prudence Nelson Arbogast.

He was married to Roberta P. Arbogast who preceded him in death May 9, 1945.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Byrd (Laura) Hinkle, Terra Alta, Mrs. Boyd (Kate) Johnston, Circleville, Mrs. Letcher (Leona) Sponaugle, Cherry Grove, and Mrs. Paul (Annie) Nelson, Circleville.

Also surviving are three sons, Truman, at home, John, Circleville, and Richard, of Washington; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Vandevander, of Cherry Grove; 38 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted this morning from the Circleville Methodist Church by the Rev. George Thomas and the Rev. L. D. Bickle. Interment will be in the Calhoun Cemetery by Brown Funeral Service.
