Etta Mae Tallman, 83, of Neodesha, Kansas, died Tuesday, September 30, 2008, at the Wilson Medical Center – Reece Campus in Neodesha, Kansas.
The daughter of Edward and Mary Etta (Carter) Bolejack, she was born August 21, 1925, in Golden, Colorado.
She grew up in western Kansas and graduated from Garden City High School. She returned to school in 1974, obtaining her LPN license from Independence Community College. She later received her RN license from Labette County Community College.
She married James Lloyd Wilson in Kansas City, Missouri. They lived for many years in Washington before moving to Neodesha. He preceded her in death in 1966.
She married Clarence Tallman in 1984 in Independence, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 2005.
She served as a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Independence, KS, and at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, KS.
She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and loved to make quilts.
Survivors include four sons, Tom Wilson of Fredonia, KS, Jim Wilson of Independence, KS, Eugene Wilson of Hanover, IN, and Richard Wilson of Plattsmouth, NE; three daughters, Jackie Anderson of Neodesha, KS, Jessie Ritzline of Deputy, IN, and Mary Lee of Bernice, OK; one brother, Ernest Bolejack of Canadian, TX; 41 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Patricia and Linda; and three grandchildren, Steve, Rebecca and Matthew.
Funeral services will be October 4, 2008, at the First Southern Baptist Church under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel, Neodesha, KS. Pastor Dallas Martin will officiate. Interment will be in Morehead Cemetery, Morehead, Kansas.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, or the First Southern Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
