Melvin Edwin died in Oklahoma City. He was son of Frank and Nancy Jane 'Nellie' Johnson Patterson.

PATTERSON Melvin Edwin “Pat”, went home to be with his Lord on January 31, 2000.
He was born March 17, 1920, to Frank and Nellie Patterson.
Melvin married Irene Porter, on September 3, 1939, in OKC.
He drove street cars and buses for Oklahoma Railway during the early 1940’s. He
served in the 4th Marine Division during World War II and fought on Iwo Jima. He
retired from Safeway as a truck driver in 1982.
Melvin lived to bowl and worked for Meridian Lanes until he retired in 1998
where he made many lifelong friends. He will be greatly missed by all of his
family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Irene of the home; son, Larry and his wife Sharon
Patterson, grandsons, Larry Jr. and his wife Rhonda Patterson, Gary and his
wife, Jane Patterson, great grandson, Zachary Patterson and great granddaughter,
Kyla Patterson, all of OKC; brother, Raymond Patterson of Blanchard; and sister,
Wanda Wright and her husband, Steve of OKC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Albert Lee Patterson and
sister, Willa Dean Ferguson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 2, 2000, at the
Crossroads Cathedral Chapel, 89th & Shields, with interment to follow in
Arlington Memory Gardens.
