Ola Mae Sparkman, 92, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 24, 2002, at Cumberland River Hospital in North Carolina.
Sparkman was born Jan. 18, 1910, in Quebeck, to Mount and Eva Denton Mason.
She had been employed in the garment industry.
Sparkman was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Alonzo Sparkman.
Survivors include three daughters and one son-in-law, Alma and W.C. Davis and Clara Hodges all of Spencer and Linda Haston of Celina; two step daughters, Ruby Jo Broom of Chattanooga and Ernestine Robinson of Florida;

one sister, Nannie Belle Slatten of Sparta;

one sister-in-law, Iva Denton of McMinnville;

seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.


Services were held Jan. 27, 2002, at the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home with burial in Skurlock Cemetery. Bro. Fate Wilson officiated.
