The News Palladium carried the obituary for Elizabeth Hauck on 23 Dec 1933 and it reads: "Mrs. Geo. Hauck Does Suddenly; Rites Tuesday Mrs. Elizabeth Hauck, wife of George Hauck, 955 Pearl street, died at 10 o'clock this morning at St. Anthony's hospital, Michigan City, following a major operation on Thursday. She had been ill only a short time, and was removed to the hospital Wednesday for surgical care. She had been a resident of Benton Harbor since 1911, except for a brief period spent in Kenosha, Wis. The Haucks had no children. Besides her husband, she leaves one sister, Mrs. Emma Kingsley, in Kenosha. She would have celebrated her 70th birthday next April 12 had she lived. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock from the Dean mortuary. The Rev. Howard Blanning, Congregational pastor, will officiate. Interment will be made in Crystal Springs cemetery. Friends may view the body at Dean's up until the hour of services."

George H. Hauck was born in Mansfield, Ohio on 13 Dec 1865 the son of Henry and Christine (Baker) Hauck. On 15 Dec 1888 in Racine, Wisconsin he married "Maria" L. Rapps. Their marriage record gives his parent's names as Henry Hauck and Christine Baker. This record gives her parents as Albert Rapps and Margaret Miller. Several members of the Raps family of Racine, Wisconsin are buried in the Mound Cemetery in Racine. It is not clear why the name "Maria" was used in this marriage record as she is later seen as Lizzie Hauck and her death record gives her name as Elizabeth L. Hauck. During the 1900 Census of Chicago, Illinois you can find George, "Lisie" and two children; Maud Hauck born 1889 and Raymond Hauck born 1897. Maud Hauck died on 13 Jan 1903 and was buried in Racine, Wisconsin on 15 Jan 1903 and Raymond Hauck died on 17 Jan 1903 and was also buried in Racine, Wisconsin on 18 Jan 1903. A check was made of the cemetery records for Mound Cemetery in Racine and along with several "Raps" family members there are markers there for two Hauck children. The dates on these two markers match those of Maud and Raymond Hauck.
The 1910 Census of Chicago, Illinois includes George and Lizzie Hauck. In this census record they reported having three children but none of them were still living. Later George and Elizabeth [Lizzie] Hauck moved to Benton Harbor, Berrien County, Michigan.
