MOULTON — A Moulton father of two died Saturday when the four-wheeler he was driving left the road and flipped multiple times, authorities said.
Lawrence County Coroner Micah Coffey pronounced Gregory Wilson, 41, dead at the scene at 8:10 p.m. on Saturday.
The accident happened about 10 miles north of Moulton on Lawrence County 152, according to state troopers.
Coffey said Wilson apparently didn't see a sharp curve and drove his all-terrain vehicle off a deep embankment.
"He missed the curve, and the ATV started rolling," Coffey said. "He was killed on impact."
Wilson's sister, Charlotte Gillespie of Town Creek, described her brother as a free spirit who loved his family and children.
"He was a good father, a good brother and a good friend," she said. "Greg loved riding horses and doing anything outside."
Wilson, who graduated from Hatton High School in 1985, worked at Hyosung USA, the former Goodyear plant in Decatur.
His funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will be in Old Liberty Cemetery.
In addition to his children, two brothers, two sisters and his stepmother survive him.
