Daniel Henry Boling is the oldest son of Charles Spence and Irena Sarah Atkins-Boling. Daniel migrated to Mississippi and Arkansas before the Civil War. He fought for the South during the Civil War with a Mississippi Regiment. His brother, James Andrew Boling, also fought for the South with a Mississippi Regiment.

After the War, Daniel Henry returned to Jackson County, Alabama, and married Alabama Dewanna Higginbotham. The couple had four daughters: Georgia Ann, Minnie LaLena, Ida B. and Mary M. Daniel, Dewanna, Ida and Mary are buried beside each other in Harmony Cemetery in Jackson County, AL. The cemetery is not far from the land that Daniel farmed and lived on for many years. The cabin that he built is still located there, and was lived in for many years by members of his family until recent years.
