My family brick wall is with her father, Oliver Perry Carman, and his brother, Warren K. Carman. Oliver and Warren were supposedly orphans. Oliver was born in 1834 in Utica, NY and Warren in Michigan in 1838. I find the boys but no parents in the 1850 census and none in the 1840 census. The family is mentioned in the pioneer family society records. Both of them served in the Civil War and I have seen their files. Warren died of disease in Oct. 1865 in Texas. His widow, Roxanna Wade Carman married Christopher Martin in 1867. Warren and Roxanna had a son Charles Carman who ended up in Washington State but I am not sure if he had children. Oliver's death certificate gives his father's name as Henry but no mother's name. I suspect they descend from the Long Island Carmans but without finding Henry of course can't prove it.
