Hermine Emma Louise (Menzel) Vogel Zoch, of Northrup, Texas, was born on November 22, 1910 in Serbin, Texas, the daughter of Gerhard and Martha (Wukasch) Menzel. She was baptized on December 4, 1910 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. M.W. Pott and confirmed on April 5, 1925 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. Herman Schmidt. Her confirmation verse was Revelation 3:11, "Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown."

Hermine was united in marriage to John A. Vogel on October 26, 1930 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin by Rev. Herman Schmidt. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Doris.

Following John's death, Hermine married Willie A. Zoch on November 19, 1971 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin with Rev. Arthur Graf officiating.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin where she was a charter member of the LWML. Hermine was a loving and devoted homemaker who enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, cooking, sewing, fishing and word find and jigsaw puzzles. She treasured the time she spent with her family, especially the visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The Lord blessed Hermine with a long and beautiful life. She peacefully passed away the afternoon of Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Giddings Residence and Rehabilitation Center reaching the age of 104 years, 9 months and 5 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerhard & Martha Menzel; both of her husbands, John A. Vogel and Willie A. Zoch; her grandson, Michael Fritsche; her step daughter, Louise Woytek & her husband, Lester; her step son, Eddie Zoch & his wife, Mildred and three brothers, Arthur Menzel, Herman Menzel & his wife Blondina and Martin Menzel & his wife, Cherry.

Hermine is survived by her daughter, Doris Fritsche & her husband, Erwin of Northrup; her granddaughter, Carol Wobus & her husband Glen "Skip" of Smithville; her two grandsons, Rodney Fritsche of Giddings and David & Michele Fritsche of Northrup; eleven great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; three step daughters, Eleanor Berger & her husband, Marvin of Paige, Madeline Faske & her husband, Leroy of Giddings and Evelyn Kaiser & her husband, Elton of Northrup as well as a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, step great, great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Serbin, Texas with Rev. John Schmidt officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Giddings.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Wobus, Luke Wobus, Aaron Fritsche, Blake Fritsche, Christian Fritsche, Andrew Fritsche, Philip Fritsche, Aaron Prince, Neil Watkins and Ray Salazar.
