Peter and Mina moved to Waseca County, Minnesota in 1873 from Clayton County, Iowa. For some of this time they lived on a farm 2 miles south of Waldorf in Vivian Township, then moved to Woodville Township, both in Waseca County. In 1889 they moved to the Wilmot, South Dakota area.

Peter Fredrick Gerdes died in Wilmot, SD on 6 March 1928 on his 86th birthday. He was widowed, a farmer born in Germany. His father was Diedrick Gerdes. ~~ Bio provided by: jhintz
