Funeral services were held at 2 pm , April 19, 1962 in the Overbrook Methodist Church for Mrs Laura Kinney Reed, 82, who died Tuesday morning, April 17, 1962, in an Osage City nursing home.
Burial will be in Ridgeway Cemetery.
Mrs Reed was born on a farm near Ridgeway, Aug 10, 1879, the daughter of John and Zurilda Sanders Kinney. Mrs Reed was a life-long resident of the community until she moved to Osage City two years ago.
She was married to Arthur Lee Reed Feb 20, 1901 in Ridgeway. She and her husband continued to live on the farm that belonged to her father. Her husband "Art" died Nov 15, 1954. The couple had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary three years before. She was the last survivor of a family of ten children born to John & Zurilda Sanders.
Survivors are three sons, George Kinney Reed of Overbrook, Albert Earl and Leona Mary Reed of Osage City, and Marlin Lee and Evertha "Tex" Reed of Altus, Okla., and 11 grandchildren.
