John David Gochenour, Sr. 75, of Rossville, IN, formerly of Pettisville, OH, died Friday, October, 3rd 2008 in his son's home in Fayette, OH, after a brief illness. He was born January 15th 1933 to the late Orville and Mabel (Harding) Gochenour in Peru, IN. He served in the US Army in Korea. He married Esther (Briskey) Gochenour on September 10, 1955. She preceded him in death in August, 2008. In the late 1970s and early 1980s he was co-owner of Gochenour's Upholstery, in Pettisville, OH, and owner of Wauseon Shoe Repair, in Wauseon, OH. In the 90's, he moved to Rossville, IN, and was owner of John's Shoe Repair, in Lafayette, IN, until he retired.
Surviving him is one daughter, Julia D. Schroeder, of Wauseon, OH, three sons; Rick & Connie Gochenour, of Fayette, OH, John Jr. & Natalie Gochenour, of Fayette, OH, and Greg & RaeAnn Gochenour, of Frankfort, IN, one foster daughter, Deb & Terry Gault, of Wauseon, OH, 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one sister, Evelyn L. Russell of Peru, IN. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers; William and Eugene Gochenour and one sister, Jo Ann Kerschner.
