Raymond A. "Alex" McCullough, 95, of Mulberry died at 3:16 a.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008 at the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Frontenac. Mr. McCullough was born December 24, 1912 in Mulberry, the son of Robert and Ada Teague McCullough. Alex worked for Consumer Fuel Company, Copeland Refrigeration, Peck's Department Store, and Bendix-Allied Signal from which he retired from after 18 years. Mr. McCullough graduated from Mulberry High School in 1931. He lived in Kansas City from 1935 until he moved back to Mulberry after retirement. He married Susanna Wilson on March 18, 1935 at Lamar, Mo. Mrs. McCullough preceded him in death December 21, 2000. He was a member of the Mulberry United Methodist Church, he belonged to Pipe Fitters KC Local 533 for fifty years, Refrigeration Service Engineers Society of Kansas for fifty years, he was Field Director for National Campers and Hikers for ten years, and was also Vice-President of Maya Club Senior Citizens Club of Guadalupe Center at Kansas City, Mo. Survivors include many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Bob, John, Hiram, Jess, and Bill; four sisters, Maggie, Anna, Mabel, and Alene.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 11, 2008 at the Mulberry United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Foster officiating. Burial will be at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. to 11a.m. Thursday at the church prior to services.

The family suggests memorials to the Mulberry Funeral Dinner Fund.
