Amanda Jane Ayers
Sunset, like a holy benediction after strife,
Has fallen upon a long, strong, honest life:
The toil-worn hands are laid to rest
Across her faithful tired breast;
Her work is done, her cares laid by,
How sweet to rest 'neath friendly sky,
Nor dread the waking: Knowing well
That she who ordered all her life;
Protection gave when fears were rife
And sustenance for those she loved,
Would welcome her to realms above
With outstretched hand, and words of live:
Amanda Jane Logsdon was born March 23, 1856 in Parkside, Virginia and died Oct 12, 1949 at her home in Kirwin Kansas at the age of ninety three years, six months and nineteen days.
