Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy June Thompson, 61, of Carthage were held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 21, 1995 at Jimerson Funeral Home in Carthage. Mr. Bernie Tiede officiated. Interment followed in Jimerson's Restland Memorial Park. Mrs. Thompson died Friday, August 18, at Merritt Plaza Nursing Center in Marshall.

Born on August 2, 1934 in Rockdale, Texas, she was the daughter of James Ballard and Matilda Scheihing Smith. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker, and has been a resident of Carthage since 1976, coming from Mt. Pleasant. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carthage.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Mr. David Neal "Tommy" Thompson of Carthage; three daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Tony Hight of Gary, Madeline and Don Bolwerk of Forney, Texas, and Lisa and Kevin Smith of Carthage; one brother, James C. Smith of Castroville, Texas; two sisters, Mary Speas of Tyler, and JoAnn McDonald of Corpus Christi; seven grandchildren, Brent and Lacy Hight of Gary, David, Brandon, and Thomas Bolwerk, all of Forney, and Zachary and Allyson Smith of Carthage.

Pallbearers were Sam Cooper, Glenn Henderson, Doyle Shumate, Dennis Smith, and Lonnie Stokes.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were Bill Bradley, Rob Trimble, and Don Waggoner.
