D. C. SEYBOLD

Dempsey C. Seybold of Wabash township, brief notice of whose death was made last week, was 61 years, 5 months and 26 days old. He leaves his wife and two children. At the call of his country he enlisted July 26, 1863 in Co. B. 115th Ind. Vol. infantry and served honorably till the close of the war.

About 1871 he joined the Friendly Grove M. E. church near Jessup and there the funeral services were held, last Thursday, April 13, Rev. S. K. Fuson officiating. The burial took place with Masonic honors. Mr. Seybold was a member of Bridgeton lodge F. and A. M. He was also a member of Steele post G. A. R. at Rockville.

He was assessor of Wabash township, at the time of his death, an office he had filled for several years. He enjoyed the respect and confidence of his neighbors and died lamented by many. -- Rockville Tribune, 13 April 1899, page 1

DEATH OF DEMPSEY SEYBOLD

Dempsey Seybold, the well-known old soldier and assessor of Wabash township whose serious illness from paralysis has been noted from time to time in these columns, died last night. Rev. S. K. Fuson will conduct the funeral services and the burial will occur at Jessup tomorrow at 11 o'clock. The G.A.R. and Masonic fraternity here were notified of the death this morning.
