Lewis Gilbert died at the age of 59, due to Cancer. He was a lifelong resident of Clovis, New Mexico and a lifetime farmer. He was the son of Edna and Melvin Gilbert. He also was in the trucking business. Lewis graduated from Chavis High School and was a member of the FFA. He was 8 years old when he learned to drive a pickup truck and tractor, he also worked for the Starbuck family for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Gilbert, in 1975, and his mother, Edna Gilbert, in April, 2008, just 5 months prior. He is survived by: Three sisters, Ann Savory, Lynn Poole, and Janet Daniels, and a brother, James Gilbert.
