Mr. Meredith Albertus Crawford, 81, of 7023 Edgemont Road, Frederick, died Saturday morning, Nov. 12, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Ruth E. Shull Crawford.
Born on July 7, 1902, in Frederick, Mr. Crawford was a son of the late John Randolph and Mary O'Brien Crawford. Mr. Crawford has been employed for many years by the Eveready Company of Frederick, retiring in 1967, and was then employed for a number of years by Frederick County Board of Education in the printing office.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one daughter, Mary Lynne Thomas, Walkersville; one sister, Mrs. Mary Catherine Shuffler, Frederick; one grandson, Seth Gideon Thomas, Walkersville, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Smith, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The Rev. Martin Luther Zirkle, a Lutheran pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. There will be no hours of visitation at the funeral home. The family requests that flowers be omitted, and that those desiring may send memorial contributions to the Braddock Heights Volunteer Fire Company.
