Ray Rex Harrison, 80, of Guymon, passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 at his home in Guymon.

The son of Willard Ray and Gwendolyn Grace (Griffitts) Harrison, he was born on August 21, 1928 in Buffalo, Oklahoma.

Ray was united in marriage to Susie Marie Snow. He moved to Guymon from Freedom, Oklahoma in 1958. He was a barber, retiring in 1991.

Ray served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Guymon VFW.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Linda Rae Harland; a grandson, John Freeman and one brother, Joe N. Harrison.

Survivors include his wife, Susie; two children, Grace Harrison and fiancé, Shannon Peterson of Fritch, TX and Mike Harrison and wife, Peggy of Guymon; three grandchildren, Eric Freeman of Los Angeles, CA, Vanessa Harland and Chandra S. Harland both of Candler, NC; five great grandchildren; one niece, Faith Harrison and a special cousin, Elaine Chapman of Buffalo, OK.

Rosary services will be held Monday evening, October 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the Bunch - Roberts Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday morning, October 7th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Guymon with Father Bill H. Pruett, celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in the Elmhurst Cemetery in Guymon. Services are under the direction of the Bunch - Roberts Funeral Home.
