Bonita B. "Bonnie" Martin, 77, of West Lafayette, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, after a long illness with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

She was born on April 14, 1931, in Austin, Minn, She was the daughter of the late Adelbert and Mae O'Connor Barry.

She was married to Olin G. Martin on May 14, 1957, in Austin, and he survives.

Mrs. Martin was a home-maker and worked at Purdue University in the psychology department.

She was a longtime member of Church of the Blessed Sacrament in West Lafayette; was an avid bowler; active with the Women's Bowling Association; was youth bowling coach; formed Blessed Sacrament Bowling League; was a member of Lafayette Bowling Hall of Fame and was honored as Lafayette Woman Bowler of the Year.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Dan Martin of West Lafayette and Paul Martin (wife: Cindy) of Greenwood; two daughters, Sue Jordan (husband: Charles) of Fort Wayne and Jan Blankenberger (husband Paul) of Carmi, IL; and a brother, Vernon Barry (wife: Esther) of Austin;e 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild on the way.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Bernadine Reiter and Lorraine Barry, and two2 brothers, Adelbert and Lowell Barry.
