Son of Isaac Edward & Mary Ann Kintner Pitman, grandson of David & Mary Ann Ouchleman Pitman, greatgrandson of John Phillip & Susannah Crabill Pitman. George's first wife was Lydia Watson. After her death in 1868, he married Lydia's sister Ellen Watson Brown (widow of Frances Brown).
