He was born December 16, 1950 in Muskegon to Howard B. and Julia W. (Hanks) Kemp and was a life resident of the area.
He was employed over 20 years as a carpenter with Carpenter Local #100. Greg enjoyed salmon fishing in Lake Michigan as well as deer hunting. He was also an avid reader. He was a member of Community of Christ Church.
Survivors included his five children, Christopher, Casey, Katie, Lindsay, Ryan; his brothers, Joe and Vickie, Rick and Kim, John and Dawn; his sister, Carol and Craig; and grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law, Julius Weathers.
