Lucinda M. Ruhle was born in Vincennes, Knox County, Indiana on October 22nd, 1816. Her parents were Johann George "George" Ruhle (1784-1863) and Catherine Myers (1784-1850).

They were originally from Germany and followed George Rapp (1757-1847) to America, first settling in Harmony, Butler County, Pennsylvania and then in New Harmony, Indiana, just an hour down the Wabash River from Vincennes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Rapp

They were part of the Harmonite/Harmonist Society.

The family moved back to Pennsylvania and settled in Economy (Old Economy Borough in Beaver County), another Harmonite settlement. They left the Harmonite sect in 1926 and moved to a farm in Mahoning/Columbiana County, Ohio before settling in New Brighton, Pennsylvania. The family eventually moved back to Springfield Township, Mahoning County, Ohio.

Lulu's siblings included:

Froncha Ruhle (1808–1815)
Nathaniel Ruhle (1809–1809)
Lambert Ruhle (1812–1838)

In 1835, Lulu married John Krum (1813-1891) at her family's farm in Columbiana County, Ohio. Together they had the following children:

Elizabeth Krum Foust (1836–1928)
Mary Ann Krum Kariher (1837–1876)

George William Krum (1852–1917)
Sophia Lucretia Krum (1854–
Amelia C. Krum Kurtz (1856–1922)

Notes about the names Ruhle and Crum-

There are many different variations of the name Ruhle. I have seen on different documents- Rheely, Rühle, Ruley, Ruhle, Rahley, Ruhle and Ruehle.

The Crum name has also been spelled in different ways. Originally Krumm, then Krum and Crum. Many of the children listed here used the spelling Crum, although Lulu went by Krum. I kept the spelling the same for all children for continuity.
