Death of Mrs. J.J. Anderson

End Came At 11 O'clock Last Night

Came to Montgomery County With Her Husband in the Fall of 1869 and Settled Upon a Claim East of the City.

Mrs. J.J. Anderson, one of the pioneer residents of Montgomery county, died at 11 o'clock last night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Glenn Allen, 612 East Myrtle, following a severe siege of congestion of the lungs. Mrs. Anderson had not, however been in good health for several years, being afflicted with rheumatism.

Mrs. Anderson was 79 years old and is survived by four children: Mrs. Glenn Allen and Mrs. Harry Truman of this city, Mrs. James Flannagan of Kansas City, Kas., and W.N. Anderson, a conductor on the Tulsa division of the Santa Fe railway company.

Mrs. Anderson was born in Ohio i 1836. Fifty-seven years ago in Illinois she was united in marriage to John J. Anderson, and they came to Miami county, Kansas, in 1865. In the fall of 1869 they moved to Montgomery county and settled on a claim four miles east and one mile south of Independence, which was their home until they moved to Indepedence 16 or 17 years ago.

The funeral will take place Saturday at 2 p.m. from the family residence, 300 North Second street, with Rev. Floyd Poe officiating.
