In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Norris Markham; one daughter, Janet Phelps; four brothers, Clave Goff, Hillard Goff, Buford Goff and Owen Goff; and two sisters, Emma Hensley and Fleta Wilson.
She is survived by three sons, William Lee Markham and wife, Leslie, of Lynchburg, and Freddie Markham and Robert Markham, both of Big Island; seven grandchildren, Latrina Markham, Jeffrey Markham and wife, Marie, Jennifer Miles and husband, James, Heather Phelps, Amanda Phelps, Shelby Markham and Waylon Markham; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Estelle Markham and Frances Wood; former husband, Harold Markham; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Tabernacle Church of God, with the Rev. Samuel F. Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Hunting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
