Mrs. Nellie D. Vail, 90, died Saturday at her home, Route 1, Tecumseh. She was born August 31, 1883 at Louisburg in Miami County and lived in Osage and Shawnee counties since 1905.
She was married to William T. Vail June 29, 1901 at Drexel, Mo. He died July 7, 1942. A son, James LeRoy Vail, died in 1907, and another son, William Charles Vail, died September 23, 1965.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Rake, Tecumseh; 5 sons, Lester Vail, Topeka, Albert Vail, Garden Grove, Calif., Floyd Vail, Wakarusa, Raymond Vail, Auburn, Wash., and Willis Vail, Seattle, Wash.; a brother, W.E. Burson, Drexel, Mo.; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Ted Tibbitts Mortuary is in charge of arrangements with burial in Ridgeway Cemetery southeast of Carbondale.
