Keith L. Bowser, 89, of Arcadia died July 9, 2005 at Morristown Manor.

Born June 6, 1916 in Arcadia, he was the son of Hersa L. and Bernice (Dickover) Bowser.

He was an Indiana licensed funeral director who worked at Macer Funeral Home in New Castle, Dorsey Funeral Home in Indianapolis, Russell & Hitch Funeral Home in Lebanon and Hartley Funeral Homes in Cicero and Arcadia where he retired in 1982.

He was a member of Arcadia Christian Church, Henry County American Legion Post 137 where he served as past commander, VFW, 40/8, Eagles Lodge in Kokomo, Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd degree Mason, Murat Shrine and Scottish Rite. He was affiliated with the Indiana Funeral Directors Association. He was a 1934 graduate of Arcadia High School and a 1944 graduate of The Indiana College of Mortuary Science. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his daughters, Gerry Louise Henry of Greenfield, Donna M. Flora of Urbana, Ohio, Phyllis J. Keeler of Cherokee Village, Ark. and Jackie D. Miller of Arcadia; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; an aunt; one niece; and one nephew.

He was preceded in death on July 3, 2002 by his wife, Nora Maxine (Smeltzer) Bowser, whom he married May 4, 1940; brothers, Kenneth Wayne Bowser and George William Bowser; sister, Marjorie Olive Bowser; and one nephew.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Arcadia Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Mark Knapp officiating.

Burial will follow at Arcadia Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at Hartley Funeral Home, Cicero Chapel and one hour prior to the services Saturday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Arcadia Church of the Brethren Building Fund, Leukemia/Lymphoma Society or The Indiana Center for Multiple Sclerosis in care of Hartley Funeral Homes, P.O. Box 407, Cicero, Ind. 46034.
