Roger was the son of Joseph and Mary(Stevens) Moore. One of eleven children, Roger was born 25 Sep 1751 and died 26 Jun 1838.
Roger married Rosetta Hayes in Granby, Conn. 4 Dec 1786.

They had 8 children:

Roger was a captain in the War of the Revolution. He lived in the house that his father built in 1751, which is still standing on Route 202 College Highway in Southwick, MA. In 1786 the land the house is on was annexed as part of the Connecticut Colony per a request of Joseph Moore and Micah Miller, the land now known as the "Southwick Jog" or the "notch" reverted to Massachusetts in 1804. Roger eventually owned many acres of land in Salmon Brook and Granby in excess of 700 acres. He also bought land in the "Connecticut's Western Reserve" or "New Connecticut", now present day northeastern Ohio. He bought 4 pieces of land in Portage County in excess of 700 acres and another piece in Aurora of 120 acres.
