Mrs. Smith, 90, died Jan. 2, 2004, at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Lincoln County on March 22, 1913, to Lilly Jenkins Anding and William Anding.
She formerly worked at Stahl Urban Manufacturing Co. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Jessie Smith; her son, Gerald Smith; a son-in-law, Donald Crosby; a grandson, Jeff Crosby; and a great-granddaughter, Abby Lane Lofton.
Survivors are her daughters, Willie Faye Lofton and husband Jerome of Brookhaven, Charlene Crosby of Summit, Judy Green and husband Gary, and Sue Smith, all of Brookhaven.
