Funeral services for Edna Arrant, 91, of Mangham will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, January 8, 2006 in Calvary Baptist Church near Mangham with Rev. Gerry Courtney officiating. Interment will follow in Hewitt Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Visitation will be Saturday from 6-9 PM at Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Arrant was born to the union of William David and Francis Head Burson on September 12, 1914 in Lapile, AR and passed from this life Friday, January 6, 2006 in Plantation Manor Nursing Home in Winnsboro.

She married Izell Arrant on June 1, 1935 in Richland Parish, and became a fulltime mother of four while he farmed the fields near their home. They remained faithful companions until his Mr. Arrants death on October 30, 1990. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Mrs. Arrant was preceded in death by her parents; husband Izell "Slim" Arrant; son Donald Ray Arrant; three brothers and one sister.

She is survived by three daughters Johnie Sue Powell and husband Aubie of Sterlington, Kathleen Weed and Peggy Sproles both of Mangham; seven grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian Arrant, Glen Fabian, Randy Weed, Todd Weed, Carl Childress, and Roy Wiggins.
