Final rites for Pvt. Ted B. Long, who was killed in action January 10, 1945, will be held at the graveside at the Malakoff Cemetery
Born in Featherston, Oklahoma in 1924, he moved to Malakoff in 1929. He attended school in that city.
Pvt. Long entered the Armed Services in 1940 and served with the late Gen. George Patton's famed Third Army in Europe. Killed in Luxembourg, he received the Purple Heart and a unit citation.
Survivors are: his mother, Mrs. B.H. Owen of Silsby; his father, B.B. Long of Houston; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Airheart of Trinidad and Mrs. Violet Anders of Beaumont.
