Peter Alfred Peterson was born in Sweden, May 2, 1857, and passed away at his home in Doland March 30, 1941, at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 18 days.

He emigrated to the United States in 1871 when he was twenty-four years old. On November 5, 1888, he was united in marriage to Elecia Delnette Snell of Castlewood, S.D., and to this union were born five sons.

He was preceded in death by his wife and two sons, Frank A. and Ralph E. Peterson. He leaves to mourn his passing three sons, Chas. A., of Helena, Montana; Guy L., of Illinois; Clifford S., of Wisconsin Rapids, Minnesota; and eight grandchildren.

Al, as he was familiarly known, was one of the pioneers of this community, having come here 58 years ago. He will be greatly missed by his friends and will always be remembered by his neighbors for his kindly and helpful disposition.
