Luthenius enlisted and was mustered into Battery I, 1st Regiment, Ohio Light Artillery, August 29, 1864. He was mustered out June 13, 1865, at Chattanooga, Tennessee. Invalid Pension applied for May 16, 1889, and issued as Certificate #472,832.
