Cameron was 19 years old. He graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School in 2007. Cameron was a member of New Life Church of Christ. After completing boot camp at Parris Island, SC and MCT at Camp Geiger, NC, Cameron completed his training at 29 Palms, CA. He was currently stationed at Cherry Point MCAS and had been home for 30 days on temporary duty as Recruiter Assistant. He had just purchased his life-long dream - a motorcyle. He had it for approximately 2 weeks and had an accident that took his life. Cameron was scheduled to report back to Cherry Point on the day of his death and would have been deploying to Iraq in September. Cam was funny, kind, loving, warm, and extremely compassionate. He loved life and believed in living to the fullest every possible minute. He said to us so many times "You only live once!" He was so full of mischief and it was hard not to laugh at him all the time. He worked as a lifeguard for many years, and it was unbelievable the number of lives that he touched in his brief lifetime. He loved computers and working with them was his MOS in the Corps. He leaves behind mom Diane, sister Kayleigh, grandmother Doris, aunts Sandra, Linda, and Melissa, and a huge number of friends, "adopted" family members, and other loved ones. Cameron's funeral was a fitting tribute to the wonderful person that he was in this life. His loss was a blow to all of us. He will be remembered forever in our hearts and minds. Semper Fidelis, my son.
