Lenora Mae was united in marriage to Merlin Anderson on March 31, 1951, at Peace United Church of Christ, Elkader, Iowa. Three sons were born to this union. Lenora Mae was a member of the church choir for many years and sang at numerous funerals and weddings. She was still able to sing at her granddaughter, Melinda's wedding in 1999. Lenora Mae was also very active in her ladies circle at church and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting, scrap-booking, pictures, decorating their home, flowers and gardening.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and visited the Gray's, Torkelson's, Dennler's and Schuety's for many anniversaries and birthdays. Lenora Mae loved all of her family and took great pride in their accomplishments. She always had a smile on her face and greeted you with a big "Hi". Her family and friends knew if you had gone a little too far, she would give you "The Look". Lenora Mae will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Merlin Anderson, Elkader; three sons, Michael (Donna) Anderson, Elkader, Gregory (Dawn) Anderson, Elkader, Danny (Kathy) Anderson, Pine Island, MN; four brothers, Raymond (Kay) Possehl, Alburnett, Dennis (Mary) Possehl, Marion, Carl (Andrea) Possehl, Goose Creek, SC, Dean (Cynthia) Possehl, Apple Valley, MN; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother-in-law, Logan Rentschler, Elkader; sister-in-law, Marilyn Possehl, Portage, WI, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Karen Rentschler; brother, Bruce Possehl and daughter-in-law, Lois Anderson.
