Larry E. Ruth, 72, Seneca, Mo., passed away Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, at Freeman West Hospital following a brief illness. Larry was born in Princeton, Mo., May 1, 1936, to Elmer and Edla Ruth. He graduated from high school in Phoenix, Ariz. He married Shirley Rogers Oct. 16, 1965, in Phoenix. Larry was an iron worker until his retirement. Following his retirement he moved to Seneca, where he was an active supporter of the local sports teams. He attended as many sporting events as possible. Larry served his country in the Navy. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Shirley, of the home; three sons, David Edwards, state of Illinois, Mark Ruth and wife, LaTonya, of Neosho, and Jeffrey Grady and wife, Cheri; one daughter, Diana Starr, Seneca; two brothers, Jack Ruth, of Winthrop, Ark., and Ernest Ruth, of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by one sister, June Greenwood. Graveside services under the personal care of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, at the Seneca Cemetery with Rev. Fred Mills officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside.
